Anne Balleydier

Anne Balleydier was born in 1964, studied Biology and Ecology, defended a thesis in Ichtyoecology (the ecology of tropical fish) in 1991 in the University of Paris VI, and then went on to do a masters in Communication (Scientific and technical information and communication, in the University of Paris VII) in order to redirect towards a career in journalism.
In 1992, she began contributing to the special editions of Science & Vie, where she became assistant editor, as well as to the Cahiers de Science & Vie in March 1994. She has been a freelance journalist since 2003, working for many different magazines (including La Recherche, Science & Vie Junior, Recherche & Santé) and also for publishers (Larousse, Reader's Digest, Margaux Orange).

Every trimester, the French National Institute for Nuclear Science and Technology (INSTN), part of the French Atomic Energy Commission (CEA) based in Saclay, France, organises a free conference aimed at young people. Middle and high school students come, sometimes accompanied by their parents, to listen to the researchers describing their work. The topics, often specialized, are always accessible and outlined with concrete examples.
